In 1952
father and son, Jerry and Carl Joorman, opened a small store near the beach in Surf City, a seaside town located on the north end of Long Beach Island. The Surf City 5 & 10, sold everything from salt water taffy, to hardware, to beach supplies.
In 1992
Carl retired and his daughters Donna and Elizabeth, kept up the family tradition, with that same nostalgic flair,and became the 3rd generation to operate the store.
Today
The family tradition continues as we welcome the fourth generation into the business. We thank our customers for their continued support in keeping our family business thriving for the past six decades.
